Young Polish photography talent Laura Makabresku draws inspiration from fairytales, her hometown Krakow and the complexity of the human thought process and emotional expression. Her photography has a haunting, slightly macabre quality, and evokes feelings of depression, sadness, anxiety and loneliness. Beautiful.

Stop The Virgens
My all-time girl hero Karen O has thrown her multi-talented self at a new creative outlet, starring and co-creating “psycho-opera” Stop The Virgens which opened at St. Ann’s Warehouse in Brooklyn yesterday and will run until October 22nd. Co-created by Lost In Translation production designer K.K. Barrett, produced by the Creators Project and scored by Sam Spiegel and Yeah Yeah Yeah’s bandmate Nick Zinner, this production promises to deliver on all fronts. The costumes are of course being made by Karen O’s trusty designer Christian Joy. New York, you get all the good stuff!
