Blog Love: Tobacco & Leather

October 6, 2010

Manchester-based illustrator and student Abbey Watkins does the most amazing, haunting illustrations. Her blog, Tobacco & Leather is not only a great source for inspiration, but she posts her illustrations both finished and while she’s working on them. You can buy her illustrations on Etsy, and I pretty much think you should.

Fendi SS2011

October 5, 2010

Cool colour blocking and simple shapes from Fendi this time, but let me just say Karl has outdone himself on the sunglasses. I want!!

D&G SS2011

October 5, 2010

What D&G says always goes when it comes to high street fashion, so it’s safe to say that we can all expect to be wearing a shitload of cutesy florals next summer! Good thing to look forward to when you’re sat typing with blue fingers.

Backstage at New York Fashion Week

October 5, 2010

I’m so hopelessly behind on fashion week updates, due to a neverending cold, but looking at these backstage photos tells me there are still many many amazing collections that I have yet to post about. These backstage photos are mainly from Alexander Wang, Prabal Gurung, Derek Lam, Jason Wu and Richard Chai. Mmm!

Celine SS2011

October 4, 2010

Phoebe Philo does a mean line of minimalist chic, but somehow always manages to make it look fresh and new. I think we’re in for a white and orange summer next year…

Rosie x10

October 3, 2010

Ten Times Rosie is a Rankin photography book dedicated to one model and one brand. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley portrays ten different characters based on ten different Thomas Wylde collections – from punk, to trapeze artist to cowgirl. There is also an exhibition on at Rankin’s Annroy Gallery in London, which is definitely worth checking out if you can. Stunning stuff.

Some pretty awesome photos.

Prada SS2011

October 1, 2010

Some people aren’t really into the whole minimalism thing, and I suspect Miuccia Prada is one of those people. Colour overload, prints, stripes, monkeys (!), caterpillar-esque fur stoles, multi-colour shoes… Not exactly a sleek minimalist dream, but definitely fun to look at. We’ll all be wanting those shoes next spring, as always.
